Another perspective on researchers getting emotional

January 22, 2013

Before Christmas I posted a blog about whether it was OK for a researcher to get emotional during depth interviews.  I thought not.

I am delighted to say that this post has sparked a bit of debate and another blog has been written in response.  As far as I know this is a first for the Ruthless Research blog, so I’m very excited.

The article, written by Portland-based applied anthropologist Amy L. Santee, can be found on the Anthropologising blog.  Whilst Amy doesn’t agree with me it is a lovely, detailed, persuasive article and it is really interesting to see a perspective from a different discipline.  Check it out!
